Welcome to Buddi! By accessing or using our mobile application and related services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
Summary: Be nice to others in the community. Don't use the app for illegal activities. We own the app, you own your content. We'll do our best to keep plants alive, but we make no guarantees (nature is unpredictable!).
1. Use of Services
Buddi grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the app for your personal usage. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account information and for all activities under your account.
You agree not to:
- Use the app for any illegal purpose
- Harass, abuse, or harm another person or group
- Interfere with the proper functioning of the app
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code
- Manipulate the points, badges, or streaks systems
2. User Content
When you post content (photos, comments, tips) to the Buddi community:
- You retain ownership of your content
- You grant us a license to use, display, and distribute your content within the app
- You are solely responsible for the content you post
- We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these terms
3. AI and Plant Care Advice
Buddi uses artificial intelligence to provide plant identification and care recommendations. While we strive for accuracy:
- AI identification is not 100% perfect and should be verified
- Care schedules are recommendations only; environmental factors vary
- We are not responsible for the health or loss of any plants
- For medical or toxicity concerns (e.g., if a pet eats a plant), always consult a professional immediately, do not rely solely on the app
4. Sensor Integration
If you use Buddi sensors:
- Hardware is provided "as is" and readings may vary
- Connectivity depends on your local network environment
- We are not responsible for water damage or issues caused by automated watering systems
5. Premium Features
Some features may require a subscription or purchase. If you choose to subscribe:
- Payments are handled through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled 24 hours before the end of the period
- You can manage subscriptions in your device account settings
6. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.
7. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
